Now we have move toward the era of small gadget but with advanced technology. Netbook is an ultraportable notebook which look similar to notebook (laptop) but very small, light-weight, low-cost and enery-efficiency. Currently company like Asus, Acer, Microsoft and etc are begin to introduce their own netbook as their notice the increasing of user buying netbook.

Meanwhile, iPhone combination of a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device into one small product.

Wireless Network Missing

This symptoms usually happen in Compaq Presario v3000 and some HP notebook. The first you will notice that no wireless driver and device is available in your setting even though you have installed the driver for the wireless. This usually happen in Windows Vista operating system (OS).
Symptoms:

1. There is no wireless driver when you check with HP Wireless Assistant?
2. After install the wireless driver, check your wireless driver in device setting? No wireless device detected?
3. Check your network device,no wireless device appear?
4. The wireless driver and wireless device sometimes appear. Then after restart it will gone.


Step-by-Step guide:

1. Turn Off Your Notebook
2. Remove the Notebook Battery, Power Cable and anything else that connected to your notebook.
3. Then, go to your start and off button. Hold it for 30-60 seconds.
4. After finish for 30-60 seconds, plug in the battery and all the stuff your connect to your notebook.

Note:This method is work for me and other notebook that I troubleshoot.

5 Things To Do To Keep An Old Compuer

Here are some tips that I get from my 3 year experience on fix and running an old computer.

1. Clean your hardware
Make sure all the hardware in the computer is clean from dust including the fan. Because it will make the fan heavy due to the fan (same as like fan at your home) and reduce efficiency circulation of the heat. Try to unplug all the hardware and plug in back for example processor.

Note: Black screen on start up. Unplug and plug in the processor or RAM. Usually that the cause of the black screen.

2. Check your hardware
Make sure all the hardware is in good shape and don't be afraid to add new RAM. This is to make sure now error is occurred when you try to install operating system (OS) in that computer.

3. Choose your OS
Different requirement is needed for different OS. Don't install the operating system  that you are usually use. Try to explore new OS for example Windows 98 or you can choose SLAX for a change. Either way, choose your OS wisely and make sure you computer is fit to the OS that you install.

4.Choose your setting
If you have slow computer, try uninstall unused service or process. Make sure your computer have the best performance even though your interface are pale and not interactive. This will increase the performance of your computer.

5.Choose you software
Software that we installed on the computer also will effect the performance of the computer. Don't install software that we are not using or game that require many resources.

Which notebook should I buy? Will that notebook serve my purpose? That must be the question when you want to buy a notebook. Right? I know making a decision on which notebook to buy isn't an easy one. Unlike PC, notebook gives you not much of a choice in upgrade and customizes the component other than Random Access Memory (RAM).

Note: Some of this tip is not applicable for online purchase. I do not include operating system (OS) because it usually depends on user itself.

Here are some tips you should consider before buy a new notebook:

Price

I know, you only can buy the notebook that you can afford. Look for some key feature that you need and try to find the key feature in notebook that you can afford. Before you rush in to the shop and buy a notebook.

Take a week or two to survey the price and key feature of notebook that meet your profiles. Go every notebook shop that available at your place. By this, you will know which notebook shop is the cheaper than other and you might find the notebook you want to buy

Weight
For a frequent flier or traveler, look for a light one which make easy for you to carry the notebook around. Remember to estimate the weight of the notebook and the things you carry in the notebook bag (sling bag or bag pack).

Monitor, Web Cam, Keyboard & Touchpad
make sure to try out the keyboard and touchpad while looking at the monitor. Find the notebook that is comfortable for you when using the notebook. Make sure you want the Mega Pixel of the Web Cam.

Universal Serial Bus (USB)
Check the USB that available in the notebook. Is the USB enough for you? Look for notebooks that have enough UBS for your usage.

Warranty & Support
Warranty and support is the important aspect of notebook after you have bought the notebook.

You need to consider:
- How many years of warranty do you get? 1 year? 3 years? Enough for you?
- What does the warranty cover? Does it cover accidents like spills? Does it cover when you accidentally drop the notebook from the 11 floor of your apartment?
- Is the warranty recognized internationally? This might matter if you intend to buy it someplace and use it more often in another place.
- How’s the support availability? Do you have to bring to their Service Center or can they come to you instead?
- Is the support available internationally? This will come in handy when you buy the notebook at your place and your notebook have problem in another place. And the support available at that place so you can go to their support center and send it to be fix.

ASRock “4 second” Instant Boot for Windows

Want a way to boot up your Windows Vista PC from a full shut down in a matter of seconds? ASRock have the answer!

The solution is technology that ASRock call Instant Boot. This is interesting technology because it leverages the S3 and S4 ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) features which normally enable the Sleep/Standby and Hibernation modes in Windows to cut boot times down to something like 4 seconds. By calling S3 and S4 at specific times during the startup and shutdown process, Instant Boot enables you to boot up to your Windows desktop in a few seconds seconds, even after a total shut down.

There are two modes of Instant Boot available:

• Fast mode - This uses S3 and boots up in around four seconds
• Regular Mode - This uses S4 and takes some 20 to boot

The advantage of Instant Boot over normal Sleep and Hibernation modes is clear. Dell's XPS One 24

There are four basic configurations that Dell is offering of the XPS One 24, all shipping today:

The 24 denotes the size of the LCD panel used in the XPS One.

All four configurations come with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200, which is a 45nm Penryn based quad-core processor running at 2.33GHz with a 4MB L2 cache (2MB L2 per core). The smaller amount of cache should put the performance of the Q8200 at below that of a Q6600, but with four cores things like video encoding should go swiftly.

A new Toshiba Qosmio X300 has just been released in Malaysia, and will be available at the retail price of RM8,999.
