Seagate announced 6 Gbps file transfer



Seagate and AMD introduce the world first public demo of a new hard drive Serial ATA (SATA 3) that offers speeds up to 6 Gbps or 600MBps.

Previously, SATA or SATA 2 only offer speeds up to 3 Gbps. The new interface will be bakward compatible with the exising SATA interfaces and share the same cables as well connectors.
